DCSNO Staffers Named to CityBusiness Health Care Heroes Class of 2011 

Four Daughters of Charity Services of New Orleans team members have been named as 2011 CityBusiness Health Care Heroes. Lynette Collins, Dr. Jay Dumas, Dr. Willard Dumas, and Felice Hill will be recognized alongside 46 other exceptional health care professionals at an Awards Luncheon at noon May 25 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, as well as in the 2011 Health Care Heroes publication available in the May 27 issue of CityBusiness.

In its fourth year, Health Care Heroes recognizes 50 top professionals in the state's health care industry based on professional and community achievement. Past DCSNO Health Care Heroes include: Rosa Bustamante-Forest, Michael Griffin, Dr. Robert Post, and Dr. Denise Woodall-Ruff.

U.S. Surgeon General Speaks at St. Cecilia Health Center


Photo: Dr. Regina M. Benjamin, U.S. Surgeon General, speaks during a press conference held Wednesday, March 23 at our St. Cecilia location to commemorate the one year anniversary of the Affordable Care Act.
In commemoration of the one-year anniversary of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), The MICAH Project—a faith based community organizing project—convened civic leaders, clergy and community members for a press conference highlighting important local advances in implementing the Act. The event took place at our St. Cecilia Health Center.

Speakers included U. S. Surgeon General Regina Benjamin, U.S. Congressman Cedric Richmond, Mayor Mitch Landrieu, Dr. Karen DeSalvo, Commissioner of Health for the City of New Orleans, and our very own president and CEO, Michael Griffin.
